Preventative
Exams/Cleanings
One of the best ways to maintain your oral health is to regularly visit one of our outstanding dental hygienists for your dental cleanings. At your cleaning appointment, we will take the necessary x-rays as indicated, and review tips/techniques for keeping your teeth and gums healthy while gently cleaning your teeth. After this has been completed, the dentist will review your x-rays, complete a head and neck exam and discuss any further dental treatment you may require. We will answer any questions you may have and ensure any future treatment is mutually agreed upon.
Fluoride
In order to strengthen teeth and prevent cavities, especially in children, a member of our staff can place an application of fluoride after their teeth are cleaned.
Bite Splints
One of the best ways to protect your teeth over the course of a lifetime is to wear a bite splint (Also known as a Bite Guard, or Night Guard). This appliance helps prevent any trauma from grinding or clenching at night, helps properly position your jaw joint, and as an added bonus can prevent your teeth from shifting over time. Our doctors will perform an evaluation of your joint and teeth, and may recommend a bite splint if indicated for you.
Mouth Guards
For those playing any contact sports, we are able to make custom made mouth guards to protect teeth from trauma during a game or practice.
Restorative
Direct Restorations (Fillings)
When you have a cavity, the first step is to clean out any decay in the tooth, and then replace the lost tooth structure with a white (resin composite) filling.
Crowns
There are a variety of reasons a crown may be needed, but usually it is due to a large filling that has broken or gotten decay around it. In order to properly protect the tooth from further breakdown, a crown covers the entire surface of the tooth. It is completed in two appointments, the first appointment we remove any decay present, prepare the tooth for a crown, and take an impression for the dental lab to fabricate the custom fit crown for your tooth. At the second appointment, we will cement the final crown onto the tooth.
Implant Restorations
A great option when there is a missing tooth, a dental implant is a specialized screw that is placed into the bone to replace the tooth that has been lost (We work with excellent specialists to place the implant itself). After the area heals, we place a custom crown on top of the implant that functions much like a natural tooth would.
Bridges
A bridge is one of the ways we can replace a missing tooth. Using the teeth in front and behind the missing tooth, they are both prepared similarly to a crown, and are connected together by the replacement tooth, and cemented into place as a crown would be.
Dentures
A denture is a removable appliance that is utilized to replace missing teeth. There are different types of dentures, ranging from ones designed to replace a single tooth, a few teeth, or even all of the teeth on the top or bottom jaw. We will make sure to discuss with you and determine what best suits your needs.
Other Services
Invisalign
We are happy to offer Invisalign treatment at our office to straighten teeth in order to improve esthetics and function.
Emergency Exam
We understand that sometimes emergencies happen. If you are in pain, call our office and we will do our best to get you in as soon as possible for an evaluation and to determine the best course of action.
Pediatric Dentistry
We always enjoy seeing our young patients in the office. We are delighted to make sure your child has positive dental experiences, starting with their dental cleaning and extending to any restorative needs they may require.
Periodontal Therapy
In many cases, more than a routine cleaning is required to properly treat a patient’s gum disease. At your initial visit, our hygienists will evaluate the health of your gums, and if needed talk to you about gum therapy. In order to accomplish a proper cleaning in these circumstances, the hygienist will anesthetize and then clean the root surfaces of the teeth under the gums in order to return your mouth back to health.
Nitrous Oxide
For our patients with dental anxiety, we do offer nitrous oxide to help them relax during their dental visits. Ask us about this at your visit and we will discuss if this is right for you.
Extractions
Sometimes saving a tooth is not an option, and when this happens we are often able to remove the tooth here in our office.
